The Tigers Learning Compound(TLC) was founded in Bennettsville, South Carolina to serve students within the surrounding communities. TLC promotes personalized learning, community service, and family engagement, to build a strong educational foundation for students to become successful, as they further education and career goals. Our core values — D.I.R.E.C.T — reflect our commitment to diversity, integrity, respect, equality, commitment, and teamwork. We believe that every student deserves to learn in an environment that caters to the needs of their learning experience. Some students learn best in larger and fast pace settings, while others may need a smaller and more hands-on type of environment. We are here to support the needs of each and every student that becomes a Tiger of the Compound.
Meet Our Founder and Join Our Cause
YKesha Young is the CEO and Founder of The Tigers Learning Compound. She is a native of Bennettsville, South Carolina. Ms. Young currently holds a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health. She has worked with children for almost 18 years, in summer camps, behavioral health centers, and public school settings.
Education has always been a passion for Ms. Young. As a child, she dreamed about teaching students, and as an adult she is making her dream a reality. Her sole purpose for opening the doors to The Tigers Learning Compound was to provide children a place to be themselves and gain a true love for learning. It is with her true desire that every child that embarks on their journey at The Tigers Learning Compound fulfills their dreams while striving for excellence.
